“This job was really cool to be a part of”, says Larry Wade Head of Marketing for The Ohio Floor Company. “Mount Vernon holds a special place in my heart because it is where I met my wife while attending Mount Vernon Nazarene University. I lived in an appointment on South Division Street for two years and walked across the High School grounds to get to class. So being on the job site brought back many fond memories for me” he adds.
According to Mount Vernon Superintendent Bill Seder, the school district had dreamed of building an athletics field house since the 1990s. It was one of the first things mentioned to him after he was hired in 2012.
The Ohio Floor Company is proud to be a small part of the effort to help make this dream a reality. We supplied and installed around 57,000 square feet of flooring for the project. This included carpet tiles installed in the entrances and hallways, commercial vinyl sheet flooring in several small offices and the large wrestling room, rubber sports flooring and turf flooring in the weight room, rubber sports flooring and OSST sports flooring in the main field house.
Doing such a large project has its challenges, but to see the excitement of the school and community at the grand opening makes everything we do here at The Ohio Floor Company worth it.
The Ohio Floor Company is a business, we have bills to pay, and we must charge our customers for our services, but at the end of the day money is not what drives us. Being part of providing a facility that the students in the Mount Vernon School District and the Mount Vernon community will enjoy for many years to come, that is what drives us to excellence.
Thank you to the leadership team for allowing The Ohio Floor Company to be your partner.
